How do I apply for a job?

What is the timeframe of the hiring process?
After the job position's posted deadline, the application is forwarded to the hiring supervisor. This generally takes 1-2 days. If selected for an interview, the applicant will be contacted by phone within approximately 2-3 weeks after the application deadline. If not selected for an interview, the applicant will be notified by mail concerning the status of their application.

Does the City have a retirement plan?
The City of Georgetown offers a retirement plan through the Texas Municipal Retirement System. The City of Georgetown's TMRS plan requires a contribution (made by means of bi-weekly payroll deductions) equal to seven percent (7%) of the salary of each regular full-time City employee. The City matches employee contributions on a 2 to 1 basis after the employee is vested at the time of retirement. Vesting occurs after 5 years of employment. The City has also adopted 20-year any age retirement.
