Unified Development Code
The Unified Development Code, adopted by the City Council on March 25, 2003, is the primary guide to development within the City of Georgetown. The UDC incorporates procedures, standards and regulations for zoning as well as subdivision applications.
For the purposes of web download, the document has been separated into chapters to allow viewing by users with slower internet connections. After several months of research, public meetings and public hearings, City Council adopted new ordinances to amend the UDC in February and March 2008. These ordinances have been incorporated into the UDC shown below and are also listed below for quick reference. (These items will not be available through the published document until summer '08 when the annual amendments are made.) Items that have been changed, or added to the UDC are:
- Revision of Chapter 5, Zoning Use Regulations to permit office uses in limited circumstances in the Residential Single-family (RS) District and to create standards for those uses,
- Develop standards and a definition for residential housing diversity subdivisions,
- Change the definition of a "Sign" to allow up to 20% use of color on the facade or roof structure that will not be counted against the sign allowance,
- Develop standards and a definition for Conservation Subdivisions.

Development Manual
The UDC Development Manual was adopted with the Unified Development Code. The manual is intended to provide applicants with the information and forms necessary to file a complete application. The manual contains checklists of all required application materials required for each type of permit processed by the Division.
The Division of Community Development is proposing an amended version of the Development Manual, which is shown below. The City will be accepting public comments on these proposed changes for 30 days. These comments may be submitted by Thursday, September 13, 2007 by e-mailing to pplds@georgetowntx.org or by mailing to Planning & Development Services, Attn: Karen Frost, 300-1 Industrial Ave. Georgetown, TX 78626.
